Common questions

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Spends are stored encrypted on your iPhone. There is no Bachat account and no server that receives your data. The privacy policy lists the few optional features that talk to other services, such as Outlook sign-in.

How do I set up automatic capture?

iOS doesn't let apps read your SMS or notifications, so you set up a Shortcuts automation once and it passes bank messages to Bachat. In the app, open You → Capture and pick a source:

Each guide shows every step and lets you test it. Make sure "Run Immediately" is on, so the automation doesn't wait for you.

A spend is missing
A spend counts twice

Open the extra one, tap Edit, then Remove this transaction (you can undo it, and restore it later from You → Removed spends). Please also send us a report from You → Report a problem, so we can improve the matching.

Which banks and countries work?

Bachat starts with banks and cards in the UAE and India, including UPI apps, and reads most message formats. You can add any bank, shop or currency in You → Banks and shops.

Can I use Gmail?

Gmail sign-in isn't in this version yet. Meanwhile, add your Gmail account to Apple Mail and use the Apple Mail automation, or the Gmail app notification automation on iOS 27.

Moving to a new iPhone

On the old phone, open You → Backup and export a backup (or turn on automatic backup to iCloud Drive or another folder). On the new phone, install Bachat and restore from that file with your backup password. Then set up your Shortcuts automations again, since automations don't move by themselves.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, open You → Backup → Delete everything. This erases all spends, plans and settings from the phone. If you connected Outlook, also disconnect it in You → Capture → Email. Deleting the app also removes its data.

Is Grow financial advice?

No. Grow explains types of savings and helps you plan with your own numbers. It never names products or tells you what to buy. See the terms.
